Our Mission
Global Pet Project (GPP) is the vision of its President, Dr. Curtis W. Dewey. Dr. Dewey is a native of New York with over three decades of experience as a veterinarian. Previously a faculty member at both Texas A&M University and Cornell University, Dr. Dewey also has extensive private practice experience. He currently owns and leads his own specialty hospital, Elemental Pet Vets, PLLC. A world-renowned researcher and educator, Dr. Dewey has forged numerous professional connections throughout the country and the world, including private and public clinical veterinary institutions, as well as industry.
Continuing education
Rapid expansion of demand for companion animal veterinary care has skyrocketed since COVID around the world. This demand includes specialized veterinary care, such as cardiology, neurology, and complicated surgical procedures. In some areas of the world, the depth and quality of veterinary education has not kept pace with the level of knowledge and expertise long established in other regions. One major goal of GPP is to provide readily available (especially online) and affordable continuing education seminars for veterinarians and veterinary technicians throughout the world, in multiple languages.
Clinical Research
Pragmatic clinical research is vital to the maintenance and advancement of companion animal health. Unfortunately, such endeavors require funding and coordination of resources. There are very few large veterinary research funding organizations and the competition for securing funding for important projects far outweighs the availability of that funding. Most of these large funding organizations focus on extensive and high-cost research projects. There are even fewer funding options for smaller, more cost-efficient clinical trial studies. The research mission of GPP is to assist in funding, coordinating and completion of clinical research (particularly clinical trials) that will have short and long-term beneficial impact on companion animal health.
